We are currently seeking a Health and Safety Lead (Large Projects) to assist with large project work across the US, as well as assist in implementing and managing our safety programming and reporting for all operational sites including project sites across the United States. We would like you to have a home base in or around Phoenix.
This individual will have a critical role keeping our team safe and ensuring that all of our staff are able to enjoy a great living without sacrificing their own health. This is a collaborative team environment and requires an individual who is a team player and self-driven and able to influence behaviors and activities of operational staff at all levels, without having any direct reports.

Responsibilities and Duties
Support the development, implementation, and measurement of health and safety programs
Leverage corporate expertise and programming to implement our Safety Management System (SMS) and integrate with SiteDocs
Coach and mentor Operations personnel to the requirements of the SMS and SiteDocs and coach them in the usage of those tools.
Measure the implementation of health and safety programs by inspecting or reviewing worksites, equipment, processes, and other activities
Support worksite pre-planning and mobilization activities.
Evaluate Operations performance against applicable regulatory, company, client, and industry requirements
Participate in emergency response preparation and exercises
Support safety related training and competency assessment for supervisors and front-line field employees for hazard assessment and hazard reporting
Assist Operations supervision in meeting the requirements of the Incident Investigation program
Assist Operations supervision in meeting the requirements of the Injury Management Program
Provide technical knowledge and authoring of health and safety standards in compliance with federal, state, local regulations and industry standards
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations at the worksite
Compile, communicate and explain leading and lagging statistical indicators to applicable Operations groups
Maintain strict confidentiality related to private information obtained through performance of job functions
Working Conditions
Work hours: typically normal business hours, Monday to Friday but due to the project oriented nature of our work and traveling in this position, there may be a need for additional hours outside the normal business work week
Travel to field project locations including remote areas will be required using a company provided vehicle. Travel component is significant, due to the geographic nature of our projects across the US. Our head office is just outside Phoenix, and it would be ideal if you lived or would relocate to the Phoenix area.
Experience and Training Requirements
Required
3+ years experience of construction safety advising experience
Experience working in cloud-based safety systems like SiteDocs
Accredited safety designation such as: CSP (certified safety professional), ASP (associate safety professional), GSP (graduate safety professional), SMS (safety management specialist), OHST (occupational health & safety technician), CSMC (certified safety manager construction), LSP (licensed safety professional), or other equivalency
Asset (ideally we'd love it if you brought these to the table)
Knowledge of construction field and safety
Experience working with safety in a union environment
A background in construction or oilfield industry
Proficiency using safety
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of US OHS safety Legislation and regulations
Experienced in MS Office Suite
Ability to be organized, prioritize tasks, and manage changing priorities and processes
Strong analytical, accuracy, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Maintain strict confidentiality
