General Description
Under the direction of the Controller, the Senior Accounting Clerk will perform general accounting in relation to Accounts Payable, month-end/year-end closing processes, and other functions to achieve operational excellence by optimizing financial reporting and its alignment to the production processes, financial statements, budgets by working with other department staff and various levels of plant management and operational staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Reconciles accounts payable invoices with product receipts and internal purchase orders for payment. Investigate variances in quantity and pricing with appropriate individuals for resolution and approval. Assess invoices for correct terms, taxability, and freight charges.
- Allocates expenditures to correct accounts according to departmental procedures.

Supports Accounts Payable, Project Accounting, and Cost Accounting with cross-department functions such as invoice entry, AP statement reconciliation, vendor and customer reviews, inventory, cost and fixed asset preparation, corporate credit card process, general ledger account reconciliations and reviews, etc.
- Cross-trained in Customer and Vendor Set-up in ERP system including compliance documentation (example 1099 vendor compliance, certificate of insurance, W9, Tax Exemption Certificates, contact updates, etc.)

Collaborates with Controller and Assistant Controller in the close cycle (monthly, quarterly, yearly) and reporting process, responsible for reconciliations and reporting, prepares journal entries as necessary to correct any discrepancies.

Actively participates in the continuous improvement process by identifying and addressing any opportunities to reduce cost, improve product/process and/or improve overall operations.
- Jointly responsible for maintaining accuracy and completeness of departmental standard operating procedures.
- Supports Finance Department Plan initiatives/goals and drives BCT's Culture and Core Values.

Proficiency using ERP software, Power BI, Excel, and other Microsoft Office products.
- Understanding and familiarity with completing monthly bank reconciliations
Education and/or Experience

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience preferred.

Experience working with an ERP system, Epicor preferred.
