General Statement of Duties
Under the general supervision of the Gold Course Manager, The Golf Cart Attendant will provide golf cart and range services to the patrons of Tierra Del Sol Golf Club.
Essential Functions
The primary duties for the incumbent include but not limited to these functions:
- Must clock in and report to work site a minimum of 5 minutes prior to scheduled time;
- Brings carts from cart barn to cart staging area outside golf shop, wiping down the seats, and body once cart is brought to staging area;
- Each cart must have scorecard, pencil, proper tire air pressure and full sand bottles prior to being put on the line;
- Uses a shag bag on an as needed basis to completely pick the range;
- Operates range picker on range to retrieve balls;
- Washes all used range balls daily before closing;
- Range balls that are cut may be thrown in the trash;
- Returns carts to cart barn; replaces pencils, score cards, tees;
- Ensure each cart has a key either when opening or closing. Keys are to be taken to the golf shop once the carts are on the line. Also, to be picked up nightly and returned to the golf carts;
- Charges the golf carts by putting the charger cord through the steering wheel and into the receptacle;
- Throws out all trash and refills sand bottles, etc.;
- Advises pro shop of lost and found clubs.
- Washes the cart top to bottom including the under carriage, wipes cart down; parks cart in barn;
- Throws out all trash from the cart barn & surrounding areas nightly before closing;
- Able to put water jugs with cups on the course in the mornings and pick up flags & water jugs nightly on the course;
- Range must be picked clean nightly;
- Reports all cart issues to cart mechanic via the dry erase board;
- Perform opening & closing procedures in accordance with procedures laid out by the City of Pharr and the Golf Course Manager;
- Follows the golf cart rotation schedule established by the golf course manager;
- Will perform other related duties that is required and assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of golf related equipment, such as, but not limited to golf clubs, tees, carts, etc. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25-30lbs, depending on item(s) it can be more.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
High School Diploma or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma (GED).
Must possess a valid (Class C) Texas Driver's License and have an acceptable driving record.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge -Basic knowledge and understanding of the game of golf and typical golf course procedures. Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency. Have a willingness to learn.
Abilities - Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships within the working environment and with those contacted in the course of work.
