POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position specifies or advises on regulatory technical requirements, design standards, and related issues for design criteria related to civil, traffic, stormwater, or structural.
Technical subject matter expert (SME) consulting Architecture and Engineering (A/E) firms, including preliminary and final designs to ensure conformance with AUS Design Standards, Stormwater Master Plan, building codes, and other regulatory codes.
Reviews construction progress reports, shop drawings, material lists, and samples. Confers with design teams on contractor-submitted items to ensure design intent is accomplished and meets AUS Design Standards.
Ability to apply engineering disciplines to review, coordinate, and advise on designs of infrastructure projects and programs throughout Planning, Design, and Construction stages or projects or as needed.
Represent the Design Management team as AUS SME for projects involving design, building code regulations, facilities improvements, and passenger experience to support the Airport and its operation.
Coordinates and/or performs tasks related to the programming phase of the project (planning and preliminary design/concepts): identifies user needs and requirements; confers with all appropriate parties to solicit input and feedback.

TRAVEL:
If you are selected for this position, and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.
