Qualifications and Experience: Experience working with mental health, crisis intervention and managing trauma triggered behavior. Excellent time management skills; stress resistant, flexible; team player; open to feedback; creative; excellent organizational skills; willingness to perform CPR/First Aid/AED/Crisis Intervention/Naloxone. Experience supervising clinical and operational staff; strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills. Preferred knowledge of AWARDS. Spanish speaking a plus.
Hours: 35 hours per week, variable schedule
Scope of Position:
Under the supervision of the Program Director, the APD will share the responsibility for supervising case management and delivery of services to clients, fostering empowerment and providing leadership through management, and establishing good working relationships with the community. Along with providing individual counseling, services, and crisis intervention to clients, the APD will ensure the safety, maintenance and upkeep of the building and upholds delegated operational functions of the program. In the absence of the Program Director the APD will assume all managerial responsibilities under the direct supervision of the Area Director. Bridge Gardens is an 18-bed “satellite” program managed by the Management team of the Washington Avenue site.
Essential Position Functions:
1. In coordination with the Program Director, supervise all staff. Supervise delivery of services including admission to and discharge from the program. Attend staff meetings, supervision and trainings as required
2. Ensure that the program is prepared for successful audits and reviews. Assist Program Director in completing monthly data collection to monitor services and trends in census, attendance, incidents, and outcomes.
3. Available on call for 24-hour crisis intervention. Attends meetings as requested and is willing to work nights and or weekends as needed.
4. Assist Program Director in managing personnel activities, including hiring, shift scheduling, developing policies and procedures, staff meetings, case conferences, staff training, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions and labor/management issues.
5. Perform all required administrative duties, data entry, monitor performance measures, petty cash, monitoring staff attendance along with providing oversight of medication monitoring and logbook documentation.
6. Ongoing assessment of building maintenance requirements and services as liaison with maintenance staff regarding repair needs.
7. In conjunction with Program Director, services as liaison with Property Management to ensure overall compliance.
8. Attend staff meetings, supervision and trainings as required.
9. Ability to work with consumers/residents/tenants, families, and staff in a caring and respectful manner, and with due understanding of and consideration for cultural differences.
10. Conduct apartment/building inspections on multiple floors, utilizing stairs. Provide escorts to clients throughout the community utilizing public transportation & attend meetings/training off site.
11. Immediately reports serious incidents, serious incident allegations, incidents, or sensitive situations to supervisors.
12. While working at either of the two sites, the APD must be available for consultation from either site and willing to travel between the two sites to respond to issues that may arise and require on-site attention.
13. Any other duties as may be assigned.
