Assistant/Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering
Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineering department at Tuskegee University invites qualified candidates to apply for an Assistant/Associate Professor position for its undergraduate and graduate program. The department is committed to offering a pedagogically effective and engaging learning environment for its students. Candidates with prior teaching and research expertise in thermal sciences and fluid mechanics are preferred; qualified candidates in other areas of Mechanical Engineering may also be considered.
Essential Job Duties
Candidates applying for the position must be willing to dedicate themselves to developing and teaching in a transformative learning environment, developing a thriving research program that involves both undergraduate and graduate students, and participating in service activities at the academic, professional, and/or community levels. The successful applicant will have excellent written and oral communication skills and will be able and willing to teach typical introductory level undergraduate Mechanical Engineering courses in addition to courses pertaining to her/his area of expertise.
Preferred Qualifications
An Earned Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering or a closely-related discipline. However, preference will be given to candidates with an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Skills and Attributes
Preference will be given to applicants with a proven track record in teaching, peer-reviewed scholarly research, obtaining extra-mural funding and currently possessing authorization to work in the United States.
