Summary of the Position:
The Associate Product Manager, Private Brands plays a hands-on leadership role in delivering private brand strategies and initiatives to deliver JBSS volume and profit growth for their customers. A key player in commercializing product and executing pricing. This critical role enables the delivery of plan-makers and strategic priorities to help diversify our portfolio.
Functions of Position:
- Supports customer initiatives by collaborating with sales and PL marketing team and leading the commercialization process. Supports new product and sku development by coordinating RFPs, sample requests, product cuttings, documentation, timelines, sample requests and follow-up. Facilitates cross-functional teams and work group meetings related to projects.
- Assumes leadership role in customer new and existing product pricing to maintain or improve JBSS margins.
- Facilitates packaging initiatives including discontinuations or transition as it relates to structure, graphics, or ingredient changes in conjunction with appropriate functions.
- Partners with sales and PL marketing team to identify and leverage consumer insights and category data to contribute to customer building strategies and initiatives such as optimal assortment, new product ideas, pricing, and retail merchandising strategy.
Qualifications:
Education, Experience and Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline preferred.
- Prior work experience, preferable in private brands, ideally with a CPG/food/manufacturing preferred.
- Strong cross-functional leadership ability
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong, demonstrated project management skills.
- Strong financial acumen.
- Base knowledge of new product launches/commercialization.
- Strong team leadership skills, agility, and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to prioritize and effective time management skills.
- Strong computer skills in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail, math aptitude, and ability to multi-task responsibilities simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
