Summary:
In this role, you’ll be involved in every stage of the project, from initial bid creation to project completion. Your main responsibilities include gathering and analyzing data for competitive bids and overseeing construction engineering and project management activities for various asphalt projects.
Our projects are primarily local/regional, minimizing travel requirements to mostly office-based and no overnight stays. This position is open in Columbus, Cleveland and Mansfield.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor project progress from solicitation to close-out.
- Review proposals, specifications, and drawings to determine project scope.
- Prepare accurate estimates and formal bids for asphalt projects.
- Manage project budgets, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
- Ensure project engineering activities align with company and contract requirements.
- Represent the company in client and project management meetings.
- Collaborate with departments to resolve issues and ensure construction quality.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
For best success, you will have some Asphalt experience listed on your resume. You will also have an understanding of managing a project.
- Civil Engineering or Construction-related degree is preferred but not required.
- 4+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent) is a plus.
- Training is provided for new grads or career changers, and continued career growth for those with extensive experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Detail-oriented with problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in relevant software and construction methodologies.
