Women Engaged is seeking an Atlanta metro area-based Base Building Manager, to engage with base members, community partners, and interested individuals, using an integrated voter engagement model, to build relationships and support the power building in communities. This person will also maintain the database and ensure information coming into the organization is uploaded and that our database is routinely contacted during campaigns and for other organizational events/actions. They will support programs and development by informing strategy on how to invest deeply into our communities, expanding our knowledge on the issues paramount to the communities we serve. This position works on community events, preparing documents for training staff, community, canvassers, and volunteers on various areas of interest as outlined by organizational leadership. This position reports to the COO.
Responsibilities
- Sustain and Grow the Base of Organized People: Coordinate and execute a plan to grow the number of activists and organizers on reparations, reproductive justice, racial justice, and other key issues facing the Black community.
- Maintain, nurture, and grow Women Engaged’s network of partners, as assigned, by attending coalition meetings, coordinating events, and deepening relationships over time.
- Foster Internal and External Relationships: Build authentic, meaningful relationships with WE teammates and with other community organizers from allied social justice organizations in the civil rights, racial, economic, criminal, women’s, and LGBT community across the state. Create and execute trainings on campaign technology, techniques, political education, and strategy for volunteers, staff, canvassers, and community members
- Submit requests for textbanks, phonebanks, and cut turf and ensure they are ready for canvassing and volunteer shifts for digital actions and on the ground actions
- Maintaining documentation of all voter contact, turnout, volunteer data using our CRMs
- Maintaining the Nationbuilder database, ensuring that information is up to date, pearheading database cleanup, uploading new information, and contacting the database to inform them of paid and volunteer opportunities, latest news, and calls to
- action, related to the organization and campaigns.
- Connecting community members to opportunities within the Women Engaged ecosystem, to increase retention and leadership development
- Actively recruit to increase the database, potential individual donors, volunteers, and attendees to events, in-person and online
- Researching and providing recommendations on data tools that will advance campaign and organizational goals
- Join respective state/national workgroup and coalition meetings to ensure Women Engaged remains up-to-date on the latest and cutting edge civic engagement data tools.
- Coordinating volunteer shifts, including vetting potential volunteers, recruiting, training, and supervising their shifts.
- Assist with other administrative duties, such as email correspondence, answering the office phone, responding to questions on our social media platforms/inboxes, and others as assigned
- Conducting routine reporting to organization leadership on Database growth, volunteer and campaign actions
- Strategize and implement innovation tactics to deepen knowledge and profile of existing base members, and new incoming members
- Perform other duties as assigned by the COO.
More Details
This position is full-time and based in the metro-Atlanta area.
The salary for this position starts at $75,000 and commensurates with experience. Women Engaged also offers a generous benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision, 401k matching after one year, life insurance, parental leave, short/long term disability, employee discounts, and more.
The hours for this position are weekdays, Monday through Friday from 9:30am-5:30pm, some evenings and weekends as needed for events/campaigns. This position travels 50% of the time, and the must have a vehicle, insurance, with an up to date drivers license.

Desired Skills
Demonstrated background in base-building skills, like phone banking, door-to-door conversations, and social media networking
Substantial campaign leadership experience, with proven staff and volunteer management skills
Exceptional problem solving and strategic and critical thinking skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Excellent computer skills and familiarity with programs such as the Voter Activation Network (VAN), Google Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom, Slack, including the ability to maintain and train others on these programs
Ability to quickly learn new campaign technologies and train others to use them
Demonstrated commitment to racial and gender equity and record of success working with communities of color, women, low-income people, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and other historically marginalized communities
Strong interpersonal skills to be able to build strong relationships and trust across race, gender, class, and other identities

Experience leading teams of staff or volunteers and managing day to day operations
Must be able to work professionally and communicate effectively with staff at all levels of the organization as well as external contacts, constituents, and vendors
Ability to work well under pressure, while maintaining a high level of detail orientation and meeting deadlines
Be a self-starter, attentive to detail, a team player and possess the ability to handle multiple tasks
