Role Description
For a large Department of Defense (DoD) customer, the Intermediate Business Analyst will serve as a member of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) working toward documenting the capabilities and requirements for an upcoming SAP technology migration. The Business Analyst is responsible for gathering, analyzing, writing, and comparing user stories against technical capabilities. This role involves documenting user stories, system capabilities, and constraints, while ensuring the traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle. The focus will be on documenting end-to-end business processes across Major Commands such as budgeting, accounting, reporting, procurement, contract management, and vendor payments. The Business Analyst will engage with stakeholders to understand their priorities and vision, facilitating effective communication and alignment between business needs and technical capabilities.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Document user stories in the proper Gherkinformat
- Compare user stories against SAP capabilities to ensure alignment
- Document the capabilities and constraints of the new SAP system to provide clear guidance for future development and implementation
- Maintain traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle to ensure all requirements are met and properly documented
- Conduct stakeholder interviews to understand their priorities and vision
- Facilitate meetings and discussions to gather requirements and provide updates on project progress
- Prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous tasks effectively
- Ensure timely completion of tasks with consistent quality
- Incorporate feedback on deliverables to improve quality and effectiveness
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes as needed

Your Experience:
Must Have
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project, Teams, SharePoint
- Exceptional critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate confidently with multiple stakeholders, including C-Suite, Section/Branch Chiefs, and PMs
- High emotional intelligence

Highly Desired
- Background in IT implementation projects
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP HANA or Oracle

About You:
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or High School Diploma and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience

Location:
This position offers a work-from-home arrangement specifically designed for Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) professionals. Our team members enjoy the convenience of working from their homes while being located close enough to engage with RiverNorth employees and the federal agency. While you will primarily work from home, the client may require as-needed meetings onsite at their offices in Washington, DC with minimal notice at times.
RiverNorth maintains office spaces in Ashburn, VA, and Fairfax, VA, allowing our consultants to work from these locations if they choose. It's important to note that certain activities, such as orientation, training, and company meetings, are conducted in person at our offices. This setup is ideal for those who live in the DMV area and seek the flexibility of working from home yet remain connected and accessible for essential in-person engagements.
Compensation + Benefits
- $98,365 Base Salary
