Title: Co-President, HEF North America
Reports to: HEF Groupe Steering Committee in France

HEF Groupe, a French multinational company, is a world leader in surface engineering, a challenger in photonics and an emerging player in hydrogen technologies. Established 70 years ago, the group employs 3,200 people in 23 countries throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
The company’s North American operations, which is comprised of 12 subsidiaries, has two Co-Presidents who share responsibilities as follows:
- Co-President in charge of Tribology Jobbing Operations: based in Kennebunk, ME., he is responsible for all the subsidiaries involved in providing tribological surface treatment services in the USA and Canada.
- Co-President in charge of a Sales and Marketing subsidiary, of Photonics operations, and of our Mexican jobbing units. We are currently seeking an individual to serve in this role which can be based either in Springfield, OH or in Torrance, CA
RESPONSIBILITIES
More specifically, the new Co-President will have the following responsibilities:
Ø CEO of HEF USA, our Ohio subsidiary which handles business development and sales of proprietary chemicals used in the company’s nitriding treatment; of engineered sleeve bearings & bushings designed for demanding industrial applications; and of tribology testing services;
Ø CEO of Abrisa Technologies, our California subsidiary involved in optical coatings and industrial glass fabrication for photonics applications.
Ø Supervisor of our Mexican Country Manager, who has General Management responsibilities for the overall business activities of HEF in Mexico.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
: BS in engineering at a minimum. Mechanical, Material or Chemical Engineering preferred; An MBA degree would be a plus.
10 to 15 years working in senior positions, with demonstrated career progression, and 5 years running multiple subsidiaries with P&L responsibility.
Experience running the North American operations of a foreign parent would be a plus.
: Experience working for a manufacturing company - preferably in one or more of the following fields: mechanical, specialty chemicals, metallurgy-related, optical components - or industrial services.
Strong business development background; experience in selling mechanical components and/or specialty chemicals and/or industrial services preferred. Experience and achievements in identifying, qualifying, and negotiating external growth opportunities would be a plus.
: Candidate should live within 50 miles of Springfield, OH, or of Torrance, CA, or be willing to relocate.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø The role involves the hands-on general management of several subsidiaries.
Ø You will have financial oversight, you will control expenses, manage budgets, and ensure that records are kept, and reports provided, according to corporate policies.
Ø You will have full P&L responsibility for all these subsidiaries, and you will be expected to produce business improvement results, both top and bottom line.
Ø You will oversee, lead, and assist in all the business development activities in North America to expand HEF’s revenues in NA. You will provide leadership & mentoring over commercial and sales functions.
Ø You will build and manage relationships with existing and potential customers, licensees and joint venture partners.
Ø In cooperation with the French Management, you will set the strategy and directions to drive long and short-term revenue growth for all business units in NA and you will be responsible for achieving the goals mutually agreed to with the French Management.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Ø Strong leadership skills; ability to make sound decisions, particularly under pressure; willingness to delegate and to empower local managements to take initiatives.
Ø Good understanding of corporate finance, KPIs, and performance management principles.
Ø Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
Ø In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices.
Ø Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ø Ability to gain the trust and cooperation of the General Managers who will report to you. Ability to report to the French Management and to work with your French counterparts.
