MEDICAL BILLER & ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE CLERK
Our Medical center has a PART-TIME IN-OFFICE position available for an organized, detail-oriented, multi-tasking, and focused candidate with excellent technical and communication skills to fill a Medical Billing/Accounts Receivable role.
Ideal candidate will be adept at handling claim submissions and primarily our accounts receivable collections which involves research, correction and re-submission of outpatient claims.
Part-time position schedule: Must be able to work 10-16 hours per week anytime during the following hours: M-Fri 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. SCHEDULE IS FLEXIBLE! RECENT BILLING SCHOOL GRADUATES ARE WELCOME TO APPLY

Primary Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- WORK ON ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE
- Troubleshoot rejected and/or appealed claims.
- Work with contracted billing services and/or front desk receptionists regarding claims.
- Interpret claim documentation, research, and appeal denied claims.
- Effectively communicate with insurance payers and other contacts to resolve issues.
- Verify insurance eligibility and effectively communicate relevant information on payment and billing/collections policies with doctors and staff
- Prepare, review, and submit claims in a timely manner using billing software
- Maximize appropriate reimbursement; Check each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discount.
- Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances.
- Collect and post insurance and patient payments in EMR system
- Run collection reports. Provide Doctor with weekly A/R status report.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient records for HIPAA compliance as well as Maintain confidentiality regarding Accounts Receivable reimbursement rates
- Support current receptionist team with office phone calls and scheduling of patient appointments as needed.

Qualification Requirements:
- JOB MUST BE PERFORMED IN OFFICE
- Medical coding experience with understanding of claim processing, collections, and third party payer requirements.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Problem-solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies, denials, appeals, collections.
- Organized
- Trustworthy
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy; Excellent data entry skills
- Ability to self-direct and prioritize work
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office applications and Google Docs
- Previous experience with an electronic medical record system preferred
Required Education:
- High school graduate or equivalent; College degree preferred
- Medical Billing or Medical Coding program completed
- Prior work experiences a huge plus, BUT we are willing to work with recent graduates.
