Summary: The Immokalee Readers program is an after-school reading program. The program is designed to train high school students as tutors to provide reading services to selected students in the public elementary schools in Immokalee, FL. The coordinator will help tutors and teachers develop study skills and organization techniques to help improve academic performance.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma required / Associate or Bachelor degree preferred
· Experience in a school or after-school setting preferred
· Bilingual is preferred, but not required
· Must have reliable transportation
Responsibilities:
Daily attendance and punctuality are an important responsibility of all Immokalee Foundation employees and therefore considered an essential function for all positions.
· Assist with data collection: monitor & track student and teacher attendance
· Perform administrative duties as assigned
· Communicate with Immokalee Readers Program Manager, teachers, and tutors
· Attend trainings and meetings as requested
· Assist with implementing classroom management techniques
· Monitor daily classroom attendance for all sites
· Create and maintain program calendar
· Assist with interviewing, hiring, training, and recruiting tutors
· Positively promote Immokalee Readers to the community
· Maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, students, and stakeholders
· Assist with keeping accurate records as requested by Program Manager
· Report all teacher concerns and issues to Program Manager
· Participate in staff development and in-service training programs.
· Assist other programs as requested or needed.
· Other duties as assigned by Immokalee Readers Program Manager or the Program Services Director

· Strong understanding and sensitivity to the perspectives of low-income children and their families
· Must be PC proficient with experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
Communications
· Proficient written communication skills
· Ability to listen and observe in order to understand the needs of individual tutors
· Ability to use verbal communications to establish rapport with and influence students, teachers, school representatives and affiliates
WORKING CONDITIONS
· Working conditions are normal for an office environment
· Some evenings, weekends, and overnight trips will be required
· May be required to lift boxes up to 45 lbs

Pay: $47,970.00 - $49,500.00 per year
