Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team in the Med/Surg unit. As an RN in Med/Surg, your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional patient care, perform assessments, administer medications, implement treatment plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct initial assessments of patients, including vital signs, medical histories, and physical examinations.
- Develop and implement comprehensive care plans based on individual patient needs and in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and monitor their effects.
- Perform routine bedside procedures, wound care, and specimen collection.
- Monitor and document patient progress and vital signs, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families on proper self-care and medication management techniques.
- Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and treatment continuity.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide optimal patient care and promote positive outcomes.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements and best practices in Med/Surg nursing through continuing education and professional development.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state licensing board.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a Med/Surg setting.
- Current BLS certification; ACLS certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Med/Surg nursing practices, procedures, and protocols.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other healthcare-related software.
