Job Summary of the Electrical and Automation Engineering Manager: We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Automation Engineering Manager to join our Engineering team. This is a hands-on role where you will collaborate with the risk management, EHS, engineering, and manufacturing teams to identify trends and implement preventative measures to mitigate product and process failures.
Job Responsibilities of the Electrical and Automation Engineering Manager:
- Ensure timely completion of Controls and Automation design tasks.
- Review and approve ECOs, design packages, bills of materials, firmware/software, math data, and other technical documentation.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Controls and Automation team.
- Assist other engineering teams and offer electrical and automation engineering expertise for large cross-functional projects.
- Support research and development activities.
- Review design risk assessments, verification, and validation activities as necessary.
- Create and validate embedded hardware systems, schematics, and PCB assemblies; Develop and validate embedded software using C.
- Program microcontrollers and PLCs to process I/O signals and ensure reliable error-free communications.
- Review Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and provide support to address root causes and resolve issues.
- Coordinate engineering activities across all engineering teams in collaboration with the Director of Engineering and Engineering Managers.
- Oversee a team of Electrical Engineers, Automation Engineers, and Application Engineers dedicated to supporting our Control and Automation products.
Education & Experience of the Electrical and Automation Engineering Manager:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education and experience.
- 3 – 7 years of experience managing and leading technical staff, such as an engineering manager, supervisor, or other technical team lead.
- Experience with UL, IEC, FCC, and similar standards for electrical system design and regulatory compliance.
- Extensive knowledge of embedded system design, firmware, and software code creation, review, and control.
- Experience with EPLAN Electric P8, Altium Designer, and Embedded Software development in C.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining a high level of productivity to meet project deadlines.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, and Industrial Ethernet communication protocols is desirable.
Salary: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00
