Purpose of VP of Accounting:
The VP of Accounting of the company has primary responsibility for the planning, implementation, and managing all the finance activities of the company and subsidiaries, to ensure accuracy and financial health for the company to be able to achieve goals in sales, production and margins.
Key Duties and Responsibilities are:
- Providing leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting functions
- Reviewing, improving and maintaining all procedures related to finance and accounting
- Ensure cost, accounting and cash-flow is current, accurate and optimized
- Manage daily bookkeeping functions (voucher entry, vendor payments, collection of receivables, bank deposits and customer credit reviews)
- Manage and perform monthly and annual close of income statements and balances sheets across company and subsidiaries as well as consolidation
- Create and monitor with Leadership Team the monthly/annual budgets
- Manage bank relationships
- Liaison to external CPA for annual audits
- Work with Leadership Team on development and execution of 10 year, 3 year, 1 year and Quarterly plans
- Providing strategic recommendations in finance to the CEO/president and members of the Leadership team
- Preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
- Advising on long-term business and financial planning
- Additional duties as needed above and beyond normal daily routine
Qualifications & Required Skills:
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
- CPA preferred and/or MBA preferred
- 8-10 years experience in management/financial roles
- Manufacturing and cost accounting
- Computer proficiency including extensive ERP experience and knowledge (Epicor Kinetic preferred)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to thrive on a team
