Job description
Overview: Provides process improvements, evaluates operational costs, documents operational procedures, evaluates and improves process flow and performs project management and problem-solving functions.
Responsibilities: The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Leads and facilitates process improvement teams using Lean Six-Sigma methodologies.
2. Eliminates waste from production by using lean manufacturing methodologies.
3. Develops project, budget and capital expenditure plans for operational improvements.
4. Performs time studies, work measurements and line balancing.
5. Identifies, evaluates and recommends changes or improvements to operational processes, procedures, and equipment and provides supporting analysis.
6. Performs SMED - Single Minute Exchange for setup (Quick Changeover).
7. Analyzes, interprets, and creates analysis using Microsoft Excel/Access software.
8. Performs cost studies, economic comparisons and ROI analysis.
9. Supports the Production Managers understanding and establishes performance baseline and metrics.
10. Prepares various reports and presentations for all audience levels.
11. Additional responsibilities and projects, as assigned.
12. Complies with all company policies, procedures and safety rules.
Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:
· BS in Industrial/Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
· Toyota Production System, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, and/or Lean Manufacturing knowledge and experience
· Ability to design, develop, implement and improve processes that include people, materials, information, equipment and cost, capable of performing root cause and corrective action (RCCA) to determine cause and solutions to various manufacturing issues
· Product costing knowledge and ability to identify opportunities for cost reduction
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in order to achieve project deliverables and milestone deadlines in a fast pace environment
· Must have excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
· Intermediate to advanced skill level with Microsoft Office, Project, and Access
· Self-motivation and strong decision-making skills required
· Proficiency in query and macro generation preferred
· Project Management and troubleshooting experience a plus
Rate Range: $1,822.98 - $2,734.47 - It is not common for an applicant to be hired at the top end of the rate range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications.
