REPORTS TO: The building Principal JOB MISSION: To facilitate the students academic and social progress under the direction of the Kindergarten/Classroom Teachers. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assist classroom teacher in readying and maintaining physical classroom space to accommodate learning center format and childrens individual needs.2. Assist classroom teacher in all aspects of center and unit preparation as directed by the classroom teacher.3.
Assist classroom teacher by accompanying children to recess, art, music, gym where directed to do so.4. Work directly with small groups of children under the supervision of the classroom teacher.5. Follow teacher record-keeping instructions during students times at choice centers and/or other daily activities. 6.
Establish a supportive and sympathetic relationship with the student(s) without fostering or encouraging intense, emotional involvement.7. Attend and participate in meetings during the regularly scheduled day with Classroom and Special Education Teachers regarding assigned student(s) as needed.8. Maintain confidentiality in school, home, and community settings as mandated by Massachusetts Regulations.9.
