We are looking for a Special Education Teacher to add to our team of passionate and caring Christian educators who will help us enhance the intellectual, spiritual and social development of our children. Your duties will include planning, implementing and assessing lessons, designing a teaching plan and using activities and instructional methods to motivate and engage K-8 Special Education students.
You should be a qualified professional with great attention to children's needs and be able to teach children with patience and creativity.
As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching students with exceptionalities and developing and implementing individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student. You will use innovative teaching methods to engage students and help them achieve their fullest potential in alignment with our school's mission and values. Patience, creativity, and a deep understanding of child development and special education practices are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Develop and implement IEPs for students with special needs, ensuring that each plan is tailored to the student's unique learning profile and goals.

Instructional Planning: Design and deliver specialized instruction in a variety of subjects, adapting teaching methods to meet the individual needs of each student.

Behavioral Management: Establish and enforce behavioral expectations and provide consistent, positive support to help students develop self-regulation and social skills.

Assessment and Evaluation: Regularly assess and evaluate student progress, using both formal and informal methods to determine the effectiveness of instructional strategies and to adjust IEPs as needed.

Collaboration: Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and administrators to ensure that students with special needs are fully included in the school community and receive the support they need.

Parental Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents, providing regular updates on their child's progress and working collaboratively to address any concerns.

Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in special education through ongoing professional development and apply this knowledge to improve instructional strategies and student outcomes.

Compliance: Ensure that all special education programs comply with relevant federal, state, and local regulations, as well as school policies and procedures.
