POSITION SUMMARY:
Assembles products or sub-assemblies of small, light or average weight parts, and fits parts to average tolerances. Aligns and adjusts parts to meet operating requirements of the product. Requires frequent lifting of up to 65lbs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assembles sub-assemblies and final assemblies as required using work instructions and referencing drawings/diagrams.
- Examines connections for correct fit, fastening parts and sub-assemblies per customer order.
- Performs pre-assembly visual inspection to detect visual and mechanical flaws.
- Performs accurate and precise adjustments in order to ensure functional performance within specified limits.
- Packs finished product into designated carton and loads 40’ trailer as required.
- Resolves assembly and packing problems. Reports other problems to supervisor for assistance.
- Checks stock bins for adequate supplies of sub-assemblies, parts, and fasteners for particular run. Checks for designated carton pack. Contacts material handler if shortages exist or incorrect parts are in bins.
- Maintains clean and safe working environment.
The right candidate will have the following:
- High School Diploma or equivalent/Technical School desired
- Experience in intricate hand assembly on paced assembly line
- Ability to keep record of time spent and material used
- Strong mechanical skills and blueprint reading skills
- Knowledge of proper use of tools for component assembly.
- Ability to safely lift up to 65 lbs
