We are a small, dynamic team of developers, designers and project managers creating software that supports large-scale initiatives for State and Local Health Departments, Federal agencies, healthcare organizations, community-based organizations, and other groups that manage the health of large, underserved and vulnerable populations.
What We Need
We are seeking an experienced Technical Product Manager to lead and oversee various application development projects. The ideal candidate will have a background in healthcare software/information technology.
At People.Health, the Technical Product Manager is the driving force for leading and coordinating projects from inception to completion. Candidates must possess strong technical skills, proven project management experience, the ability to manage cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality projects on time and within scope.
What You Would Be Doing
The Technical Product Manager must possess the ability to work in a fast-moving, complex and diverse environment with multiple stakeholders and changing priorities to ensure high quality deliverables.
Project Planning and Management:
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with Account Manager and other stakeholders and how they relate to milestones in the project.
- Develop a comprehensive project plan, including: user stories, timelines, resource allocation including Developers, process maps, QA, and budget estimates.
- Identify potential security risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Develop, maintain and execute integrated project plans using project management methodologies.
Project Execution:
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members and provide guidance and support.
- Monitor project progress, track milestones, and address any deviations from the plan.
- Proactively plan and prioritize tasks effectively to respond to demands managing both internal and external expectations in line with project critical success factors, communicate and control time and cost of the project.
- Facilitate communication among team members, ensuring a clear understanding of responsibilities and goals.
- Address issues and conflicts that arise during project execution.
Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, customers, and team members, providing regular updates and addressing concerns.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Provide leadership and direction to project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Budget and Cost Management:
- Develop and manage project budgets and contractual milestones.
Risk Management:
- Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle to minimize the impact on project outcomes.
- Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported and resolved in a timely manner. Identify, analyze, prioritize , mitigate and communicate project risk throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Change Request Management:
- Handle scope changes by assessing and documenting their impact on the project and obtaining Account Manager approval.
- Communicate changes to relevant stakeholders and adjust project plans accordingly.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including but not limited to task management system entries, project plans, process maps, dependency diagrams, status reports, QA results, and meeting minutes.
- Create post-project reports to evaluate project success and identify areas for improvement.
- Support QA processes.
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years experience as a Technical Product Manager in a healthcare software or healthcare information technology preferred.
- Experience in eliciting appropriate detail level requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
- Experience in critically evaluating information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
- Eagerness to connect with customers, to get into the weeds with developers, and to share learnings with the People.Health team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
- Experience in collaborating with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between competing constraints.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred (e.g. Business, Engineering, Information Technology).
- Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Must be a United States citizen.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
