CLIENT BENEFITS COORDINATOR
Fiscal Services Full-time, Regular, Non-exempt
Salary Range - $19.25- 32.13 Hourly
The Organization
San Gabriel/Pomona Regional Center (SG/PRC) is a private, non-profit agency that is contracted with the State of California, Department of Developmental Services, to provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. SG/PRC has proudly served the San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys since 1986, serving 30 cities in its catchment area. We serve individuals across the lifespan from infants and toddlers, school age children, transition-age youth, to adults and aging adults.
The Position
Under the direction of the Manager of Fiscal Services, the primary responsibility of the Client Benefits Coordinator is to coordinate and secure client benefits to the individuals we serve.
Essential Job Functions
· Performing record keeping and monitoring functions on a computerized system
· Coordinating and securing client benefits such as Social Security, Railroad benefit, Teachers Pensions, Long Term Care, Medi-cal, Dept. of Public Social Services, etc.
· Reporting changes in clients’ asset to appropriate agencies
· Reviewing and reconciling clients trust accounts
· Creating and adjusting reports and records
· Accounting for income and expenditures
· Filing & scanning documents
· Liaison work between staff and client funding sources
· Provides follow up and coordination of relevant client information with appropriate staff
· Handles all vendor, service coordinator, and 3rd party inquiries regarding client benefits and payment issues and facilitates resolution of issues.
· Performs other duties as required.
Employment Standards
High School Diploma and at least two years of experience in a public benefits agency, or a community care or health facility or experience in general record keeping or accounting. Any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities will also be considered.
Knowledge and Abilities
· Ability to interpret and apply governmental regulations.
· Understand the relationships among accounting records and supporting documentation.
· Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with government agencies, service coordinators, Regional Centers’s care providers and independent living specialists
· Ability to reconcile; to and comply with all regulation for each agency; and to handle phone contact on a daily basis with various agencies.
· Must operate office equipment such as computer programs and 10 key calculators by touch and demonstrate the ability to accurately key a minimum of 35words per minute on the computer using Word software.
Other Essential Requirements
· A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and minimum liability insurance coverage is required.
