General Purpose:
In accordance with program regulations the PROS Psychiatrist performs psychiatric evaluations and provide psycho-pharmacotherapy to clients diagnosed with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use histories. The PROS Psychiatrist works with the interdisciplinary clinical team in monitoring client symptoms, stability and medication side effects. Provide health information to clients, educate on risks versus benefits of meds, management of med side effects, interrelationship of physical/psychiatric wellbeing. Coordinate treatment with and communicate effectively with other clinical professionals (RN, social workers, mental health counselors etc.) “in-house” and also outside of program as needed (e.g. client primary physicians or other specialists).
Essential Functions:
Goodwill NYNJ is seeking a part-time psychiatrist, in the Personalized Recovery Orientated Services (PROS) program. Goodwill NYNJ offers a variety of mission services including, Behavioral Health and Psych Rehabilitation Services across NYC.
HOURS: 8 - 16 hours over 2 weekdays
SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology / medication management

Experience with Outpatient Mental Health, including treating persons having co-occurring mental health, substance use and other complex conditions

Experience working with persons having a variety of diagnoses & socioeconomic backgrounds

Experience with / ability to learn electronic medical record documentation

Positive attitude and demeanor, and strong ability to collaborate with clinical and office staff

Organized, self-starter

Familiarity with OMH regulations in outpatient PROS programming

Credentialed Medicare / Medicaid Provider a plus
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $160.00 - $170.00 per hour
Schedule: 8 hour shift
Supplemental pay types: Signing bonus

License/Certification:

Board Certification or eligibility in Psychiatry

NYS License to Practice Psychiatry (Required)

DEA Certification (Required) - All relevant certificates must be current (e.g. controlled substance registrations from NYS Dept. of Health, Bureau of Controlled Substances, etc.).

Must have at least 3 years of experience in outpatient setting or similar community provider setting (e.g. partial hospital).
Scope of Responsibility & Positions Supervised:

Coordinate treatment with staff RN/NP and provide medical oversight

Maintain confidentiality of records, keep records up to date and maintain highest ethical/medical standards

Share clinical observations with interdisciplinary team to support clinical interventions and recovery

Communicate with other physicians and specialists as needed (e.g. in assessing MRI results, lab-work, etc.)
