Position Description:
The Woodworker constructs and repairs items such as boxes, crates, pallets, and storage bins from wood and wood substitutes, studies specifications; and measures, marks, and cuts boards, using patterns, templates, ruler, tape measure, pencil, and hand and power saws. This worker fastens or installs parts, using hammer, nailing machine, or power staple, repairs defective containers by replacing damaged parts, inserts wood bracings, cardboard files, and felt pads in containers. This incumbent may build crate around object, using ruler, tape measure, hand tools, and pneumatic nailer, May fabricate, repair, modify, and replace woodwork on material and may pack, seal, band, and apply markings to crates and containers. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Must be able to work efficiently in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment, while keeping correct data

Required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, work at heights, able to climb with and without a ladder onto a Stryker, and work in all weather conditions and in extreme temperatures (cold and hot)

Ability to learn GDLS processes, products and military technology

Ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks

Ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and written) and interact with internal and external customer clients

High School Diploma or equivalent.

2-5 years related work experience

Must be a US Citizen.

Must be able to gain and maintain access to all military installations in which the work is performed.

Must be able to travel based on the needs of the business

Mechanical aptitude

Ability to work flexible hours in a warehouse environment

Worker may need to be forklift certified.
Position Hourly Rate: $30.01 per hour
Position Incentive: Hired applicant may be eligible to receive an annual bonus.
