**Job Summary:** We are seeking a diligent Collection Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing overdue accounts, contacting customers to secure payment, and maintaining accurate records of all collection activities. **Duties:** - Contact customers to discuss overdue payments and arrange for debt repayment - Negotiate payment plans with debtors to settle outstanding balances - Update account status records and payment information in the database - Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts and resolve discrepancies - Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or misapplied payments - Provide excellent customer service while handling collections **Requirements:** - Proven experience as a Collection Agent or similar role - Knowledge of accounts payable, account reconciliation, debits, credits, and financial software - Familiarity with medical terminology, revenue cycle management, and medical billing processes - Strong negotiation skills and ability to communicate effectively - Proficiency in math and understanding of ICD-10 coding - Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills **Nice-to-Have Skills:** - Experience in the healthcare industry or medical billing environment is a plus If you are a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and a background in collections, we encourage you to apply for this position.
