Position Summary
Under the direction of the Senior Program Director, the Camp Counselor will help execute daily itineraries, weekly themes, camper projects and more for our summer camp. This position will assist the camp director in the implementation of programming and camper supervision and engagement. This position can transition to our before and after school program during the school year.
Qualifications
· Preferably two or more years working in a child care center, an educational institution, business or program or agency.
· Must be CREATIVE and FUN and possess good communication skills (oral/written)
· Must love working with children and be able to develop positive relationships with parents, staff, co-workers, and community organizations.
· Must maintain current certifications in CPR, First Aid, Safety & Risk Management, Child Abuse Prevention and New Employee Orientation or the ability to obtain within 60-90 days of employment.
· Ability to reason, solve problems and make independent judgment and decisions.
· Ability to demonstrate and lead activities such as sports, science, arts, music and more.
· Execute the logistics of programs to and from field trips, parks, and pool
Functions
· Prepare activities such as arts and crafts, STEM projects, field trips and sports/recreational games
· Follow daily itineraries for staff and campers for summer camp
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
