The Shipping/Receiving Clerk manages incoming and outgoing shipments in the distribution center. They also offer warehouse support by assisting the team with order processing and meeting various customer requirements. This role demands a proactive individual who can identify and tackle the next priority task after completing daily responsibilities. Attention to detail is crucial, involving tasks like recording weights, dimensions, and tracking information. Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand dollies is necessary for handling shipments. Collaboration and adaptability are key, as this role requires working closely with others and adjusting to changing operational needs. Strong problem-solving skills are vital for daily tasks in this position.
Essential Functions/Duties:
- Uses great attention to detail when sorting and organizing all inbound deliveries and outbound customer shipments by verifying the accuracy of the corresponding documentation and processing completed shipments within the warehouse management system.
- Well-versed in the receiving process and able to work independently, unloading, sorting, and completing all inbound deliveries.
- Identifies and solves any discrepancies that arise, including but not limited to examining shipments for damages.
- Processes daily outbound UPS and FedEx shipments utilizing and fully understanding the shipment software involved.
- Responsible for printing daily outbound UPS and FedEx shipping logs and distributing them to the proper location.
- Processes daily inbound UPS and FedEx packages and delivers items to their proper location obtaining signature for accepted items when required.
- Secures outgoing pallets, with operating knowledge of wrapping machine, and stages loads based on routing schedule.
- Coordinates the receipt and put away of shipping supplies, including boxes, pallets, and general facilities maintenance supplies.
- Ensures warehouse dock is clean and organized daily, allowing easy access in and out of the area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- 1-3 years of Warehouse/Distribution experience in similar role/capacity. Must effectively communicate and understand written and oral instructions.
- Basic math skills and computer literacy preferred.
- Must be able to operate a RFID scanner; prior scanning experience preferred.
- Prior forklift certification preferred.
