POSITION SUMMARY
MRO Planner is responsible for planning Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) tasks, Service Bulletin and Airworthiness Directive compliance, and Passenger-To-Freighter (PTF) conversion work packages for wide-body commercial aircraft. This includes building customer-specific aircraft work packages and entering contractual work scope, budgeted hours by card, ATA and WBS codes, and other required task card information into the EmpowerMX system. The MRO Planner also provides assistance to managers and technicians, coordinates with Supply Chain and Engineering, develops and maintains KPIs, and participates in Continuous Improvement projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assemble and sequence MRO and PTF work order packages, including but not limited to routine maintenance cards, inspection cards, service bulletins, checklists, technical data, and engineering

Load new work packages into EmpowerMX and update work orders in EmpowerMX as changes occur

Plan and sequence workflow for each department and operation according to previously established sequences and lead times

Evaluate, plan, and schedule Airworthiness Directives (AD) and Service Bulletins (SB)

Review customer-provided MRO and PTF data packages to prepare part, material, and tool requirements

Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure that required consumables, supplies, and tooling are available on-station to comply with the aircraft plan

Assist in the capture and analysis of data during the execution of MRO and PTF projects, and participate in schedule optimization and process improvement activities

Coordinate with Operations to develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI), extract relevant data, distribute KPI reports, and participate in discussions on the KPIs

Assume responsibility for maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relations with company personnel and management

Resolve documentation issues noted during use of task cards

Perform on-aircraft documentation as required

Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned

May require support of night and weekend aircraft work
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school graduate or GED equivalent
-
Two or more years of MRO planning experience in aircraft industry; Passenger-to-Freighter conversion experience preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products

Experience reading aircraft manuals and drawings
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Airframe & Powerplant license preferred

Experience with 777 aircraft strongly preferred

Experience with EmpowerMX is preferred

Experience in developing and maintaining KPI reporting

Experience in process development and continuous improvement in an aircraft maintenance or modification environment
SUCCESS FACTORS/JOB COMPETENCIES

Knowledge of aviation MRO, quality control, and planning principles and processes

Ability to read OEM maintenance manuals, customer maintenance task cards, engineering drawings, and company production processes

Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aircraft Maintenance Programs/Maintenance Program Documents (AMP/MPD), Airworthy Directives (AD), and Service Bulletins (SB)

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates primarily in indoor settings, including office and warehouse/airplane hangar environments which require the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines and safety gear. Must be able to move about inside the hangar, inside aircraft undergoing modifications, and outside on the ramp.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
