In this Diesel Fleet Mechanic Apprentice role, you will maintain and diagnose diesel engines, transmissions and differentials, and associated component parts, electrical systems, brake systems, and liquid pumping systems and equipment. Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for working and learning under the Lead mechanics in service, repair and diagnostics of diesel powered trucks (36,000 lb. + GVW) You will also be learning and responsible for the overhaul and/or testing of the following:
- Diesel engines
- Exhaust systems
- Transmissions and drive train components
- Cooling systems
- Fuel injection systems
- Electrical systems
- P.M. Maintenance
- Road Service
- Wheels, tires, shock absorbers, and brakes
- Body damage and body parts
- Pumping components and fuel hoses
Requirements:
As a Diesel Fleet Mechanic Apprentice, you will Learn Technical expertise along with a personable, approachable, and helpful personality. You must also be highly detail oriented and focused with a flexible and adaptable nature. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Willingness to Familiarize yourself with federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and Hazardous Materials Safety Regulations (HMSR)
- Willingness to Follow Directions and apply them to making repairs and performing maintenance in compliance with all applicable D.O.T. requirements
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet the company's motor vehicle policy
- Willingness to Obtain a Commercial Driver's License B with Air-Brake and X-Hazmat Endorsement.
