Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to work in our Downtown Los Angeles Headquarters. Under the supervision of the Vice President, Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist will support all the operational areas of Human Resources Department, serving as the subject matter expert for HR Information Systems (HRIS), overseeing job description creation and updates, managing the Volunteer & Intern programs while adhering to HR compliance requirements. This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Bachelor’s Degree with concentration in Human Resources or related field or equivalent work experience required.

Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources Generalist experience including a minimum of 1 year in administering HR information systems and/or People Analytics required or 1-year leading programs.
- Current or former experience within the healthcare industry preferred.

SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.

Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings & weekends, as required.

Responsible for managing, planning, setting up, upgrading, implementation, testing, troubleshooting and training staff in relation to the Organization’s HRIS Core system to ensure data integrity and the processing and reporting of HR data.

Serve as lead representative and liaison between HR, information services, external vendors, and other stakeholders for HRIS design and implementation projects.

Ensure system compliance with data security and privacy requirements.

Work with Manager, Benefits & Compensation to audit employee records for new hires, employment changes, personal changes, and/or benefits deductions are inputted in a timely manner for bi-weekly payroll processing.

Create, maintain, and support a variety of complex reports (e.g. People Analytics) or queries. Assist in development and running of weekly, monthly and yearly standard and custom reports for ongoing internal customer needs and compliance.
- Perform group data updates, exports, imports, clean-up, and research/report on any data discrepancies.

Help maintain data integrity in the HRIS system by performing periodic audits and analysis of data.

Provide support to end users by researching and resolving HRIS problems, unexpected results or process flaws; perform scheduled activities; recommend solutions or alternative methods to meet requirements.
- Support end users with E-Time and Attendance, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Management and HRIS user's security access issues.

Maintain and audit employment data within the HRIS system, ensuring accuracy of employment data, and recommending opportunities to streamline processes.

Maintain knowledge of trends and developments in HRIS providers, vendors, and technology.

Volunteer and Intern HR onboarding.

Maintain and update volunteer documents, files, records, reports, & database, including the tracking of volunteer hours and the contract management with colleges and universities as needed.

Field volunteer requests from PPLA departments.
- Perform background checks, reference checks, and interview volunteers.

Maintain employment files in accordance with federal, state, local and PPFA accreditation standards.

Research and stay up to date on federal, state, and local legislation related to employment laws and regulations.

Hiring range: $71,000 - $85,000 per year (Exempt)
