About Our Urgent Care: Our new Urgent Care facility provides essential medical and psychiatric urgent care services to individuals in our community. Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Medical Assistant to join our new Urgent Care facility, specializing in both general urgent care and psychiatric urgent care services. As a crucial member of our healthcare team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting patient care delivery and ensuring a smooth operational flow in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:

Assist healthcare providers in conducting patient assessments, including recording vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.

Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.

Perform basic clinical procedures, such as phlebotomy, wound care, EKGs, and point-of-care testing (e.g., urine dipstick, rapid strep test).

Administer medications under the direction and supervision of licensed healthcare providers.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Assist in the coordination of patient care activities, including scheduling appointments, referrals, and follow-up care.

Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatment plans, medication instructions, and preventive healthcare measures.

Handle administrative tasks, such as answering phone calls, verifying insurance information, and completing necessary forms and documentation.

Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.

Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members, including physicians, physician assistants, nurses, and behavioral health specialists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited medical assistant program preferred.

Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.

Previous experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or psychiatric care is advantageous.
