Position Summary
We are adding certifications and have expanded into an additional 5000 sq ft. We are looking for an organized and motivated professional that can grow along side our team. We are not a DRP for any insurance company. We write our estimates on CCC and have access to Alldata. Administrative team supports the estimator/repair planner and handles all non-value aspects of transaction.
The Estimator/Repair planner of All Ready Automotive Body and Paint is responsible for inspecting automobiles for damage; preparing estimates for repair; coordinating with insurance companies and customers; and verifying repairs to metal, plastic, and fiberglass parts are completed following industry and company guidelines and practices.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The requirements listed below are representative of the essential duties and responsibilities required.
- Greet Customer and build a rapport.
- Examine damaged vehicle including pre-existing damage to determine extent of structural, body, mechanical or interior damage.
- Prepare cost estimates within insurance company guidelines and secure customer approval.
- Estimate the hours needed to complete the job/cost of labor.
- Estimate cost of labor and parts to repair or replace each damaged item.
- Estimate cost of repainting, converting to special purposes, or customizing undamaged vehicles.
- Determine feasibility of repair versus replacement of parts, such as bumpers, fenders, and doors, or payment of vehicle market value before damage.
- Review repair cost estimates with General Manager.
- Obtain insurance information, secure insurance company approval and coordinate repairs and payment with insurance adjuster; negotiate with adjuster as required.
- Prepare insurance forms to indicate repair cost estimates and recommendations.
- Work with technicians to submit additional insurance supplements after tear down.
- Notify customer of repair costs or insurance settlement.
- Prepare work orders, schedule vehicle repairs approved by customer and insurer and order parts and materials necessary for repairs.
- Communicate with customers throughout repair process.
- Create invoices for completed work.
- Ensure all work has been executed correctly by inspecting vehicles after repair.
- Ensure payments are made by customer or insurance company.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and practices.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Two years of experience in auto body repair.
- One year of estimating experience in an auto body shop.
- One year of experience with CCC software.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Some college courses preferred.
- Demonstrated effective communications with employees and customers.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues associated with an auto body shop.
- Extensive knowledge of auto body repair techniques and procedures.
- Ability to read work orders submitted by insurance adjusters.
- Ability to learn and explain latest technologies in auto paint and body work.
- Ability to meet the requirements of the Vehicle Operation Policy.
- Understanding of how to use tools required for the trade.

Physical Demand
The requirements listed below are representative of the physical demand required.
- Must be able to work in shop environment with paint, resin/filler, grease, dust and other odors.
- Must be able to lift, carry, pull or otherwise move objects up to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally lift, carry, pull or otherwise move objects up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of light and weather conditions.
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); color vision (ability to identify and distinguish color variations).
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform inspections.
- Must have manual dexterity sufficient to reach, grasp, lift and exert force with hand or power tool in a repetitive manner.
- Ability to hear and verbally communicate safety and work instructions.
- Able to operate motor vehicle including applying pressure to pedals and turning steering wheel based on road and traffic conditions.
- Must be able to wear appropriate PPE.
Work Environment
The requirements listed below are representative of the environmental factors required.
- Well-lighted, outdoor ambient temperature environment.
- Moderate to loud noise expected in environment with metal working and pneumatic tools.
- Occasionally employee will be in an environment with wet, cold or humid conditions.
- Work near moving mechanical parts.
- Work near dust and/or fumes.
Work Hours/Schedule
All Ready Automotive Paint and Body office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00 pm and occasional Saturdays 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Additional hours and days may be required to meet business needs.
