This position provides comprehensive wound assessments and plan of care including goals, implementation of treatment evaluation and outcomes for patients. Provides dressings selections and other therapies.
Requirements:
- 1–3 years experience
- Registered Nurse - NH State or Valid Nursing License in another Compact State
- BSN Preferred
- CPR certified within 90 days of hire
Major Responsibilities:
- Performs all the duties within the scope of practice for a registered nurse.
- Performs wound assessment; reassessment and management for all patients according to established policy.
- Understands the anatomy and physiology of the dermal system.
- Utilizes principles of current wound management theory when providing care to patients with acute and chronic wounds.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of wound etiologies.
- Develops skin care programs to prevent skin breakdown of patients.
- Demonstrates the ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques in conjunction with wound care.
- Educates the patient and family with regard to the recommended plan of care to include disease process; nutrition; current treatment and prevention, as well as long-term management.
- Serves as liaison between physicians; patients; caregivers and vendors of clinical products.
