The Western States Regional Council of Carpenters (WSRCC) is looking for an exceptional Office Assistant that works well with a team, has a great attitude, is proactive, and will make an immediate impact on our organization. This is an In-person position and the ideal candidate should be punctual and have a sense of urgency as well as be detail-oriented, organized, positive, friendly, and hard-working.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support our mission through a variety of administrative, research, and communications functions
- Manage office systems and provide day-to-day support to Local union and Training Fund
- Provide a welcoming, helpful customer service demeanor, often managing complex relations with members and contractors
- Receive and screen phone calls and emails from members and contractors, responding appropriately or forwarding them to the appropriate staff, ensuring a timely response
- Provide in-person and over-the-phone, customer service and support including accepting dues payments
- Assist members and contractors with dispatching and updating job site info
- Basic bookkeeping skills (entering deposits and reconciling bank statements)
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma, (Associate’s, Bachelor’s Degree desirable), or equivalent experience preferred
- At least 1-2 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience (Desired), QuickBooks experience, QB Online & Desktop experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management and external organizations/individuals
- Ability to multi-task, and handle urgent interruptions with high level of professionalism
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Outstanding work organization and time management skills
- Ability to independently complete assignments and work under pressure to meet tight schedules
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience using social media and email for advocacy
- Great, customer-service oriented, can-do attitude
- Bi-Lingual, fluent English and Spanish (Preferred)
