Reporting Structure: The Registered Behavior Technician position will work under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, reporting on a weekly basis.
Compensation: $19.25 - $22 per hour
Location Details: The role is based in Needham, MA. Travel is required in the form of in-home care programs.
Role Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Maintain credentials annually.
- Must have a committed interest in the field of behavioral sciences, and experience working with our populations in a direct care role.
- Successful completion of all state and agency mandated training.
- Must be willing to authorize a Criminal History Background Check (CORI) and release of information concerning allegations from Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC), Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and other agencies.

Training Overview:
No experience? No problem. We provide comprehensive paid training to support you in the completion of your RBT certification.
- Selected candidates will be required to complete necessary coursework to become certification-eligible in the first 30 days of the start of the position.
- Once coursework is completed, candidates must register to take the Registered Behavior Technician certification exam and pass within the 30-day window.
- Candidates must complete the certification process (coursework and pass the exam) within their first 60 days, or they will not be eligible for the position.
Daily Activity of an RBT:
- Collaborate with the Clinical Team: Work closely with the clinical team to document treatment plans effectively, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Design, Implement, and Train Data Collection Systems: Develop data collection systems tailored to individual needs, implement them consistently, and train others involved in their use.
- Assist in Completing Individual's Annual Documentation: Support the completion of necessary documentation for individuals' progress and treatment plans on an annual basis.
- Graph and Summarize Data Regularly: Utilize data to create graphs and summaries, allowing for clear visualization of progress and areas needing attention.
- Provide Staff Training on PBS and Behavioral Techniques: Conduct training sessions for staff members on Positive Behavior Support (PBS) and effective behavioral techniques.
- Assist in Conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs): Support in the process of conducting comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessments to identify behavior patterns and triggers.
- Support the Development of Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) and Behavior Guidelines: Assist in creating Behavior Support Plans and guidelines based on assessment findings and individual needs.
- Utilize Evidence-Based Techniques for Addressing Challenges: Apply evidence-based practices to address behavioral challenges effectively, ensuring interventions are grounded in research.
- Attend ISP Meetings and Provide Support: Participate in Individualized Service Plan (ISP) meetings, offering support and insights into behavioral goals and progress.
- Assist in Behavioral Crisis Management: Be prepared to assist in managing behavioral crises, employing appropriate techniques to ensure safety and de-escalation.
- Work Collaboratively with Families, Guardians, and Residential Staff: Collaborate with families, guardians, and residential staff to ensure consistency and alignment in implementing behavioral strategies.
- Maintain Valid Safety Care® Certification: Uphold a valid Safety Care® certification, ensuring competency in handling crisis situations safely and effectively.
- Work In-Ratio and Fulfill Direct Support Responsibilities: When not engaged in clinical duties, work directly with individuals in-ratio, fulfilling responsibilities akin to a direct support professional.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Remain flexible and willing to take on additional responsibilities or tasks as needed to support the overall goals of the clinical team and organization.
