The Business Development Manager will help build solar market projects by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships for solar customers. He/She will enhance customer relationships, contact new customers, and help define future capacity planning requirements.
Responsibilities:
- The Business Development Manager will build long-standing relationships resulting in repeat business, lead internal project teams, and be supported by the marketing, project development, analytics, engineering, and construction teams provide APA’s customers with complete turnkey and consultative services
- Originate new accounts and opportunities through (but not limited to) cold calling, email campaigns, targeted marketing, networking and participating in trade shows and conferences
- Provide customers with strategic project structuring guidance, market insight & strategy and consultation
- Monitor market conditions across core markets by participating in industry policy groups, maintaining relationships with policy stakeholders and staying abreast of market changes & news; utilize internal tools and resources to stay informed on other national solar markets
- Track all sales activities in NetSuite (CRM)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field or equivalent work experience
- 3-5 years' of relevant work experience in Business Development and/ or Sales
- Prior Experience in sales experience structuring high-value project transactions and portfolio transactions
- Self-motivated, self-starter who can work independently
- Highly energetic and results-driven, with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
- The candidate must possess strong business communication, coordination, initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Analytical problem solver who views obstacles as challenges
- Executive presence, outgoing with strong communication and presentation skills
- Creative thinker who generates new and different ideas
- Some travel required to tradeshows and visitation to clientele.
