JOB MISSION:
As an IT Project Manager you will manage medium to large sized projects using industry standards and best practices. You will be responsible for all aspects of the project from requirements definition to go-live and stabilization planning. You will work cross-functionally to ensure key decisions on design and software changes are made. You will create and maintain project documentation and detailed, comprehensive project plans. In this role, you will proactively identify and manage risks and issues, escalating them as necessary. You will develop expertise on industry trends and the IT ecosystem.
New Balance’s IT organization is actively transforming and transitioning toward more Agile practices. The ideal candidate for this role should also have an interest and willingness to adopt an Agile mindset and culture, and some practical exposure to Scrum / Kanban or SAFe framework.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Manage medium to large size projects of varying complexity using industry standards and best practices. Responsible for all aspects of the project from requirements definition to post implementation support.

Effectively communicate and manage project expectations to project managers, owners, sponsors, team members, and other stakeholders in a clear and concise fashion.

Coordinate and collaborate with internal resources and work with/manage third parties/vendors, utilizing project management and communication tools such as, Asana, SmartSheet, and/or Azure DevOps, and MS Teams.

Monitor and report progress of the project to IT management. Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues, and escalate in a clear and timely manner when appropriate. Prepare and publish a status report in intervals throughout the lifecycle of a project. Active management of the project scope throughout the project.

Manage and track implementation issues/risks to achieve a successful go live. Prepare and track post go live issues to ensure a successful stabilization phase.

Use knowledge of business domain to add value to project and manage more effectively. Grow this domain knowledge during the course of a project.

Knowledge of relevant business domains and experience working within the structure of the full software development lifecycle. Guides project teams to ensure solutions delivered are effective and solve business needs and requirements. Grow and develop deeper domain knowledge during the course of a project.
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

Requires a BS degree in a technical field or equivalent experience

Minimum of 5 years of project management experience with minimum 1-2 years of experience in IT project management or similar type of experience. Technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development a plus

Proficiency in professional tooling, such as, MS Project, Power Point, Excel, and SharePoint; usable knowledge of MS Teams and ADO a plus; working knowledge of project planning tools such as Asana, SmartSheet, MS Project

Ideal but not required: Project Management Institute’s Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Exposure to / interest in Agile methodology and Scrum framework

Experience and/or exposure to one or more relevant domain areas such as ecommerce, retail, marketing, supply chain preferred

Time management and organizational skills essential

Flexible Work Schedule

Our North American hybrid model encourages rich in-person experiences, showcasing our commitment to teamwork and connection, while maintaining flexibility for associates. New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Our offices are fully open, and amenities are available across our North American office locations.
