The Receiving Supervisor manages FT and Temporary employees in the Receiving area. This role is responsible for achieving 98% accuracy of receipt posting for inbound deliveries and intercompany transfers of inventory and non-inventory materials delivered to Edelbrock Group Olive Branch DC . Activities include unload, verification, receipt, sort, and staging for final bin location. Must drive continuous improvement in productivity, ensuring safe and effective work environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manages the execution of the department’s responsibilities including productivity and inventory accuracy.
- Directly supervise employees in Receiving area. (approx. 7 personnel)
- Responsible for both employee safety and product integrity. Active in coaching employees on all aspects of performing duties in the safest manner. Required to report all safety issues, near misses and injuries to HR.
- Ensure productivity is tracked and reported accurately on daily basis.
- Conducts start of shift meetings daily.
- Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of workers.
- Maintain current Edelbrock lift truck certification.
- Coach and develop employees to be fully proficient in their primary responsibility as well as fully cross-trained in all Receiving area functions.
- Facilitates team problem solving, decision making and conflict resolution.
- Isolate unsafe facility areas and equipment. Coordinate with Edelbrock Maintenance or outside service suppliers as needed for timely remedy.
- Unpacks, examines, and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with appropriate internal personnel to resolve damages and shortages.
- Follows approved SOP for defective parts up to and including returns for replacement or credit.
- Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
- Responsible for keeping an adequate inventory of receiving supplies on hand at all times.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3-5 years Receiving supervisor or team lead experience
- Pass background and drug screen
- Understanding of basic math
- Good communication skills (oral, writing and reading)
- Organizational Skills.
- Strong leadership skills and proven ability to manage minimum 5 people
- Experience with computer ERP system, Oracle preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office Applications
- Time Management Skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
