Job Summary
The Corporation seeks to hire a Program Assistant to provide programmatic and administrative support to the International Peace and Security grantmaking team in developing, recommending for funding, and administering supported projects in the program issue areas.
Responsibilities:

Sustain an accurate working knowledge of the current trends, professional practices, and developing policy issues pertinent to IPS.

Contribute to the process of assessing prospective grantees and their capabilities, review active proposals for consideration, and solicit proposal reviews from qualified scholars and experts, when appropriate.

Correspond with prospective grantees about project content and respond to any questions, review, and suggest adjustments to project budgets and/or grantee requests for grant modifications, review interim and final reports, and gather relevant information in support of grant recommendations.

Draft confidential staff evaluations of projects as needed, monitor active projects, communicate regularly with grantees, including conducting on-site assessments, as needed.

Represent the Corporation at meetings and prepare meeting summaries, as required.

Engage with the Corporation’s Communications office about grantee activities that warrant attention.

Perform other miscellaneous duties, as required.
Qualifications and Skills:

College degree with course work and, preferably, some work experience in areas of IPS interests related to nuclear security, Congressional relations, and/or American foreign policy, more generally.

Proactive, with strong listening and writing skills.

Good planning and organizational skills and keen attention to detail.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Project management skills.

Exposure to grantmaking a plus.

Willingness to travel (domestic and international).
