POSITION SUMMARY
The Marketing Specialist is responsible for planning, development, and implementation of CORE's marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal. This role oversees the development and implementation of support materials and services for CORE interest holders both internally and externally in the areas of marketing, communications, and public relations. This role also directs the efforts of the marketing, communications, and public relations staff, if any, and coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of CORE and LAEP.
The Marketing Specialist will be hired and supervised by the Director of CORE.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Developing Marketing Strategies:

Collaborate with the marketing team to develop comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Conduct market research and analyze trends to identify new opportunities for outreach and engagement.

Content Creation and Management:

Create compelling content for various platforms including social media, websites, newsletters, and promotional materials.
Manage content calendars to ensure timely and consistent messaging that reflects our mission and values.

Digital Marketing Campaigns:

Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns across email, social media, and online advertising platforms.
Monitor campaign performance and optimize strategies based on analytics and insights.

Brand Management:

Maintain brand consistency across all communication channels and materials.
Develop brand awareness strategies to enhance our reputation and visibility in the educational sector.

Partnership and Outreach:

Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders including educational institutions, community organizations, and media outlets.
Coordinate promotional events and initiatives to build partnerships and increase participation in our programs.

Analytics and Reporting:

Utilize analytics tools to track marketing performance metrics such as engagement rates, conversion rates, and ROI.
Prepare regular reports and presentations on marketing activities and outcomes for internal stakeholders.

Project Management:

Manage marketing projects from inception to completion, ensuring deadlines and objectives are met.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including design, development, and program management to deliver integrated marketing campaigns.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

Minimum of 5 years' experience in marketing, communications, or public relations with
- demonstrated success, preferably in the not-for-profit or association sector.
- BA/BS in journalism, marketing, communications, public relations, or closely related field.
- Advanced degree in journalism, marketing, public relations, or closely related field is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications, and public relations activities.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies and tools (SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing).?
- Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational, and personal sales skills.
- Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, making presentations, and negotiating with media.
- Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications.
- Computer literacy in word processing, database management and page layout.
- Commitment to working in cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.?
- Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
- Proficiency with MS Office, Google, and other data systems.
- Background or experience with 501c3 organization.
- Self-Starter – you should be able to learn quickly and be resourceful in finding answers to questions or problems you are not familiar with.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, board, or other outside partners.

- Experience working with volunteers is desirable.
Membership in IABC (International Association of Business Communicators) and IABC accreditation are desirable.
