Job Description
Incumbent will operate and maintain a variety of electric furnaces ranging in capacity from 50 pounds to 85 tons. Incumbent also operates gas furnaces for melting various materials and operates gas ovens for heat-treating and stress relieving parts. The incumbent is responsible for charging, refining, and pouring both ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Producing metal of proper alloy and bringing it to correct pouring temperature.
- Repairing or replacing furnace linings by working on bricklaying, patching and lining materials.
- May assist directing work of one or more Molders in repairing, charging, and operating the furnace.
Qualifications Required for the Position
- High school education
- Must have knowledge and experience of operating and maintaining induction furnaces.
- Basic understanding of metal characteristics (metallurgy), foundry furnaces and mathematics.
- Ability to read and interpret metal specifications.
Security Clearance / Background Check required. Your candidacy is subject to approval and acceptance.
