The Assistant Director for Operations and Community Development will focus their efforts on assisting the Associate Director with all operationally significant matters in addition to serving as the student staff recruitment and training specialist. The Assistant Director will be directly responsible for all elements of the Community Advisor (CA) Program’s training, development, and retention efforts. The Assistant Director will have previous experience in housing operations and residential life along with experiences in student development and programming. The ability to work both autonomously and collectively with multiple constituents (students, parents, administrators, etc.) is necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise 2-3 Full-time Area Coordinators and indirectly supervise 1-2 graduate student Assistant Area Coordinators. Approximate of time spent: 30%
Work collaboratively with all members of the department to deliver an industry leading, holistic Community Advisor (CA) Program. Including leading student staff training, development, and retention. Approximate of time spent: 30%
Work collaboratively with the Associate Director to maintain a high quality, “customer first” customer service philosophy. The Assistant Director will oversee the hiring and supervision of Community Living’s student staff (Office Assistants), and will serve as the second line in all matter’s “operations” including but not limited to: social media, website, student assignments, central billing, and our housing management software. Approximate of time spent: 20%
Assist with professional staff selection and retention on an as needed basis. Approximate of time spent: 10%
Attend regularly scheduled staff and supervision meetings. Serve on Administrator on Call (AOC) duty rotation. Other duties as assigned. Approximate of time spent: 10%
