Behavioral Health and Wellness Center is seeking a Licensed Clinician/Therapist to provide assessments and therapy to clients in the out-patient mental health clinic (Article 31) and the community-based program (CFTSS). The clinician will carry a caseload of 20 to 25 clients, and provide the treatment in office, off-site and as Telehealth. This clinician will be a part of an intra-disciplinary team serving children and youth (26 years old and younger) who are experiencing behavioral and mental health challenges.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Utilize best practices and evidenced based approaches to provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy and treatment
- Perform intake assessment, risk screening, treatment planning, safety planning, crisis intervention, and discharge planning
- Provide community-based mental health services to children, adolescents and their family who have difficulty engaging in a formal office setting and can benefit from having therapy and rehabilitative services provided in their home and/or community
- Meet a productivity expectation of 20 kept/attended sessions weekly
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment and progress in the client’s electronic health record system/Netsmart
- Work as part of an intradisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and other mental health professionals
- Engage and collaborate with external providers and agencies around treatment planning and ensuring the child’s access to needed resources and support
- Attend staff meetings, supervision meetings, case conference meetings, training and other program and agency meetings, as directed
- Cooperate and assist with incident management and other quality assurance requirements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, mental health counseling, or any related behavioral health or human services fields
- License required (either LMSW, LCAT, LMHC or LMFT)
- At least one year of post graduate experience working with children and youth with behavioral and emotional challenges preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized
- Ability to interact with all levels of employees and represent the Agency with external groups/individuals
- Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Bilingual Spanish, Creole or French a plus.
