Irish Creek is looking for General Construction Carpenters/Project Foremen who are efficient, organized, motivated and safety-minded for Industrial, Commercial and Residential General Construction projects. Daily tasks and responsibilities could range from something small, such as installing cabinets, to managing subcontractors, schedules and general production of larger commercial construction projects. Applicants should have residential and commercial carpentry and/or general construction industry experience and access to reliable transportation. The ideal candidates will have the ability to read and understand architectural drawings, communicate clear direction and project details to subcontractors and other site team members and project management, be capable of working with minimal oversight and also be able to follow directions closely. Additionally, he or she should be familiar with OSHA Construction Standards. An OHSA 10 Hour Certification, High school diploma and/or GED is preferred. This is a working Foreman position, not supervisory only.
Project Foreman Duties:
○ Managing General Construction Projects varying in scope and size.
○ Carpentry work as needed on projects that the individual is managing and/or on other Irish Creek Projects as needed.
○ This is a WORKING FOREMAN position.
○ Communication and direction to subcontractors.
○ Email communication with subcontractors and vendors for Project Documentation Purposes.
○ Follow project schedule and report any delays to Project Management.
○ Verify scopes of work from Subcontracts to Project Plans and Specifications and implement direction to subcontractors.
○ Verify correct installation of subcontractor’s work.
○ Document daily activities thoroughly on time sheets, in Irish Creek's file system and via email as necessary.
○ Communicate often and effectively with Project Management and Project Ownership via phone call and email.
○ Schedule Subcontractor’s work for the site to maintain Project Schedule.
○ Contact and communicate with Subcontractors to ensure completely work per Project Schedule via phone call and email.
○ Maintain an organized and safe work site.
○ Enforce Safety Policies on Project Site.
○ Project Look-ahead and Communication with Project Management.
○ Host and preside of Project Foreman Meetings on a weekly basis.
● Miscellaneous Carpentry Work:
- Installation of various items on a project, such as toilet accessories, casework, countertops, rough framing, doors & frames, blocking, signage, etc.
- Residential renovation install of flooring, tile, painting, hang and finishing of drywall, finish carpentry, etc.
- May need to labor for excavating division from time to time.
- Assist and/or labor on other Project Foreman projects as needed.
Project Foreman Skills:
- Ability to accurately read and implement Architectural, Structural and MEP Drawings.
- Ability to read and implement Project Specifications.
- Ability to read and implement a Project Schedule.
- Effective communication skills & a positive attitude.
- High organization skills.
- High school diploma or GED.
