We are looking for a Quality Manager to ensure our products are held to the highest quality standards in our off-site production kitchen located in Austin. Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Manager to join our organization. The Quality Manager will be responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the quality of our food products, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and implementing quality control measures throughout the production process. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of food safety regulations, quality management systems, and have excellent attention to detail. The Quality Manager will collaborate with the production team and leadership to identify areas for improvement, implement best practices, and ensure that our products consistently meet or exceed customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain food quality control programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including HACCP, GMP, and FDA guidelines.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes, materials, and finished products to identify any quality, safety, or compliance issues.
- Collaborate with production, purchasing, and other departments to establish and maintain quality specifications for ingredients, materials, and finished products.
- Analyze and interpret testing data, product samples, and customer feedback to identify trends, root causes of quality issues, and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor and maintain documentation related to quality control activities, including standard operating procedures, production records, and quality assurance records.
- Conduct internal audits and coordinate external audits by regulatory agencies or third-party certifications to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
- Manage the supplier qualification and evaluation process, ensuring that suppliers meet the required quality standards and expectations.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in food quality management systems to continuously improve processes and stay ahead of best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience (2 years) in food quality management, preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment.
- Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations, quality management systems, and industry best practices (e.g., SQF, BRC, ISO).
- Strong understanding of HACCP principles, GMPs, and FDA regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Superior attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with implementing and managing food safety and quality management software systems.
- Certification in Quality Management Systems (e.g., SQF Practitioner, Certified Quality Auditor) is a plus.
