We are looking for a motivated Lab Manager to help oversee and streamline the operations of our new laboratory. Duties of the Lab Manager include managing day-to-day activities, processing samples, overseeing equipment and supply management, handling administrative tasks, and facilitating effective communication within and outside the lab. The ideal candidate should have excellent organizational skills, strong communication and interpersonal abilities, and a high level of motivation. If you have previous experience in a laboratory setting, especially in a coordinating or administrative role, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, a successful Lab Manager will play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining efficient lab operations, contributing significantly to the growth and success of our laboratory.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the laboratory, ensuring efficient operations.
- Process samples.
- Organize and schedule lab activities, ensuring optimal use of lab facilities.
- Ensure that the laboratory adheres to all safety regulations and maintains high quality standards.
- Oversee the maintenance and procurement of lab equipment and supplies, managing inventory effectively.
- Perform various administrative tasks including budget management, record-keeping, and reporting on lab activities.
- Maintain effective communication with team members and collaborate with external parties as needed.
Requirements:
- Strong Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain order in a dynamic laboratory environment.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Proficiency in both verbal and written communication, ensuring clear and effective interaction with team members and external parties.
- Basic Knowledge of Laboratory Safety: Familiarity with standard laboratory safety protocols and willingness to enforce them.
- Educational Requirements: Bachelors degree in chemistry, biology, medical technology, biochemistry or a related field.
- Proficiency in Basic Computer Applications: Competence in using MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), for managing schedules, records, and reports.
- Experience in a Laboratory Setting: Previous work experience in a lab, even at a basic level, would be advantageous.
- Administrative Experience: Skills gained from administrative roles, such as record-keeping, scheduling, or inventory management.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently, improving lab operations.
