Title: Senior Superintendent – Major Commercial & Government Construction Projects
Location: Northern Virginia, DC, Maryland
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Superintendent to oversee major Commercial construction projects leading into a Significant Government Construction project. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all on-site activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as a thorough understanding of government regulations and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the construction project, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
- Manage on-site construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure work is completed according to specifications and quality standards.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Monitor project progress and performance against established goals, making adjustments as necessary to ensure deadlines are met.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to address issues and resolve conflicts as they arise.
- Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, progress photos, and change orders.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential risks, quality deficiencies, and compliance issues, taking corrective action as needed.
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress, challenges, and milestones.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations, building codes, and contractual requirements throughout the construction process.
- Mentor and coach junior staff members, providing guidance and support to foster their professional development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in construction management, with a proven track record of success in overseeing large-scale and government projects.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve project goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in construction management software such as ProCore, SageInAcct, Sage100, E-Builder, or similar platforms.
- Thorough understanding of construction methods, techniques, and best practices, with a focus on quality and safety.
- Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Eligibility to work on government projects and pass a background check.
- Eligibility to work for any US employer without sponsorship.
