The Human Resources Generalist will assist and support the HR Management team with the day-to-day operations of the HR Department.
The HRG works in partnership with the HR Management team and Field Leadership to manage all aspects of the HR Function including, performance management,
HR Compliance, Employee Relations Issues, Benefits, Leave Management, Employee Engagement, and the employment life cycle.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assists in overseeing all local HR requirements in partnership with the leadership team, including Performance Management, Employee Relations, and Employee Engagement.
· Provides guidance and recommendations to management and employees on company policies and guidelines to ensure compliance.
· Assists with the timely response of unemployment claims and attends unemployment hearings as required.
· Manages the termination and employee status change process.
· Manages the employee separation process by completing required separation notices.
· Assists and supports in the administration of employee benefits including, Open Enrollment and Leave of Absences in accordance with local, State, and Federal laws.
· Supports the HR Team on projects and other key initiatives.
· Maintains the highest level of confidentiality of business and personnel information.
· Develops partnerships with various departments to successfully accomplish goals and helps to build effective teams.
· Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws.
· Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/SENSORY FUNCTIONS
· Must be able to sit in front of a computer for extended periods of time.
· Must have the ability to use a computer, mouse, keyboard, telephone, cell phone, and other equipment typically found in an office environment.
· While performing the duties of the job, the Team Member is regularly required to communicate effectively with other Team Member’s, vendors, and Customers within the organization.
· Ability to adjust, focus, read and interpret documents and instructions.
SKILLS
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications with advanced skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent organizational, time management, and administrative skills with strong attention to detail
- Proven verbal and written communication skills
- Confidentiality and composure with complex employee relations issues
- Ability to manage multiple complex and demanding priorities, with a high sense of urgency
- Team oriented person with excellent follow-up skills
- Ability to effectively interface with all levels of management and team members within the company
· Experience working with an HRIS system (e.g., ADP)
· Must be able to work independently
· Previous experience successfully working remotely is preferred
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
- 3+ years’ experience in Human Resources required
· Ability and desire to learn various functions of the HR Department
· Retail Experience preferred
· Experience in fast-paced HR Department
· Multi-unit and Multi-State experience highly preferred
CERTIFICATIONS
· PHR or SPHR Strongly Preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
