How You'll Contribute:
- Maintain all financial records and statements including, general ledger, journal entries, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital asset recognition and reconciliation, trust account statements and reconciliation, fixed asset activity, debt activity, internal controls, bank account maintenance, capital budgets, chart of accounts and month end reconciliation
- Monitor, analyze, and report accounting data internally and externally
- Set up and monitor accounting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Adhere to generally accepted accounting principles and ensure others are too
- Ongoing cash flow, budget, and expense management and forecasting
- Assist departments with expense analysis, allocation, and general account guidance
- Support departments with finance guidance
- Manage audit including field work, 990’s, and other finance regulatory requirements
- Serves on committees and other teams as assigned.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, rules, and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
What You'll Bring to the Table:
- College degree in finance or accounting or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 3+ years of non-profit finance / accounting experience (preferred)
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) and Management Reporter software (preferred)
- Experience with registration and reporting software (preferred)
- Functional computer skills with the ability to use Outlook, Word, Excel, and other software
- Working knowledge of and experience working with accounting software / databases
- Understanding and knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
- Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and take personal initiative to prioritize and complete projects
- Forward thinking and motivated to operate in a cloud-driven environment
- Proven written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with other departments
- Able to pass organizational background checks
