Position: Procurement & Scheduling Specialist
Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (on-site)
Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and strategic Procurement and Scheduling Specialist to join our team. This hybrid role combines the responsibilities of managing procurement activities with the intricate planning and scheduling of resources to ensure the timely delivery of products and services. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Compensation and benefit details:
- Full-time = full benefits (medical, dental, vision), paid time off, and more on day one of employment.
- Salary, exempt with a targeted compensation plan of $75,000 annually,
- 401(k): Matching 5% following 90 days of employment offered to both full-time and part-time employees
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
Procurement:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and build strong supplier relationships.
- Manage the procurement process from requisition through to receipt, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and supplier performance to make informed procurement decisions.
- Oversee inventory management to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their procurement needs and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain detailed schedules for production, projects, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with departments to ensure alignment of schedules with operational goals and project timelines.
- Monitor and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in priorities, resources, or unforeseen delays.
- Utilize scheduling software and tools to track progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and optimize workflows.
- Communicate schedule updates and changes to all relevant stakeholders to ensure transparency and coordination.
- Analyze scheduling data to identify trends, improve processes, and enhance overall efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field highly preferred.
- Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, and/or scheduling.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in procurement and scheduling software.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems and make data-driven decisions.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
